- New Schedules Effective, 4/12
SMART will implement a new and expanded train schedule effective on Sunday, April 12.
Expanded schedule and service improvements begin April 12
On Sunday, April 12, transit service across Marin and Sonoma counties will become more connected, frequent, and convenient. As part of the Marin-Sonoma Coordinated Transit Service (MASCOTS) Plan, nine regional transit agencies have worked together to better align schedules, improve transfers, and expand service along the Highway 101 corridor, making it easier to travel throughout the North Bay and into San Francisco. What this means for SMART riders: SMART service is increasing by 19%, with more trains running earlier in the morning, more often during the day, and later into the evening. These improvements are designed to give you more flexibility; whether you're commuting, running errands, or heading out for the evening. You’ll see: Earlier morning trains for early commutes; New midday service to fill gaps in the schedule; More evening options for getting home or going out; Improved connections with local bus service; More frequent service overall, creating more travel options
