Temporary Bryn Mawr and Argyle Stations Close
How does this affect my trip?
The temporary Bryn Mawr and Argyle stations will close.
Please use the new, rebuilt Bryn Mawr, Berwyn and Argyle stations, featuring elevators and escalators for improved accessibility, and other upgrades:
Bryn Mawr temporary: The new Bryn Mawr station is adjacent to the closed Bryn Mawr temporary station.
Argyle temporary: The new Berwyn station is located one block north of the Argyle temporary station Foster entrance; the new Argyle station is located one block south of the Argyle temporary station Winona entrance.
Why is service being changed?
The temporary Bryn Mawr and Argyle stations closing following reconstruction and reopening of the Bryn Mawr, Berwyn and Argyle stations as part of the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.

How does this affect my trip?
The Wilson station’s west platform will reopen, and will resume operating as a two-platform transfer station:
- The east platform will serve Howard-bound Red Line trains (inner track) and Linden-bound Purple Line trains (outer track).
- The reopened west platform will serve 95th-bound Red Line trains (inner track) and Loop-bound Purple Line trains (outer track).
Why is service being changed?
The Wilson west platform will reopen due to the reopening of the two west tracks between Thorndale and Wilson stations following reconstruction as part of the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.
New Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle and Lawrence Stations Open
How does this affect my trip?
New, reconstructed Red Line stations at Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle and Lawrence will open for service. The stations feature elevators and escalators, improving accessibility for persons with disabilities, limited mobility and others, and include these customer convenient features:
- Bryn Mawr:
- Two accessible entrances, on Bryn Mawr Ave (elevator and escalator) and Hollywood Ave (elevator)
- Auxiliary unstaffed farecard entrance on Bryn Mawr Ave across from main entrance
- Berwyn, Argyle and Lawrence:
- Main entrance with an elevator and escalator
- Auxiliary exit across from main entrance
- Wider platforms for faster boarding and less crowding, featuring full canopy coverage for weather protection and more benches and windbreaks
- Improved lighting and customer security features throughout the stations
- Real-time information screens throughout station
The temporary Bryn Mawr and Argyle stations will close.
