The 95th- and Loop-bound platform elevator at Fullerton (Red, Brown, Purple Lines) is temporarily out-of-service.
Our crews are working to assess the repair time for this elevator—this alert will be updated with additional information if/when we can estimate its return to service.

Service for Weekday Cubs Games
How does this affect my trip?
- Loop-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan for all weekday Cubs night games.
- NEW FOR 2026: Linden-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan for all weekday Cubs day games. Exit out the Budweiser Bleacher Gate and walk 2.5-blocks north to Sheridan for trains to Howard and Linden.
Why is service being changed?
Extra service is being provided for the convenience of customers attending weekday Cubs day games.

State/Lake Elevated Station Temporary Closure
How does this affect my trip?
Effective, Monday, January 5, 2026, the State/Lake Loop Elevated station will temporarily close.
Please use the accessible Clark/Lake or Washington/Wabash stations, located within a few blocks of the State/Lake station. To transfer between the Red Line at Lake station and the Loop ‘L’ lines, use Washington/Wabash.
Why is service being changed?
The new State/Lake elevated station is scheduled to open in 2029. It will replace one of the oldest stations on the CTA rail system with a modern facility designed to improve safety, accessibility, and comfort for all riders.
