9/20/26 BEARS 18TH ST SERVICE: In order to accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Bears vs. Vikings home game at noon on Sunday, Sept. 20, the South Shore Line plans to stop the following trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station: Westbound: Tr 504, 18th St. arrival at 9:56a; Tr 506, 18th St. arrival at 10:58a; Tr 608, 18th St. arrival at 11:47a. And Eastbound: Tr 609* departs 18th St. at 3:35p; Tr 509 departs 18th St. at 5:12p. * Tr 609 terminates in Michigan City, and does not serve Hudson Lake/South Bend.

9/12/26 NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL: To accommodate passengers attending the Notre Dame vs. Rice football game at 3:30p ET on 9/12/26, the South Shore Line will provide a courtesy shuttle bus operating between the South Bend Airport and Notre Dame campus for passengers on select trains. 9/6-9/11 FIRST RESPONDERS RIDE FREE: SSL is inviting doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, other medical personnel, law enforcement and NIPSCO employees to ride the train free of charge Sunday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, on all westbound and eastbound weekday and weekend trains. Lakeshore - Lakeshore Corridor

The Lakeshore Corridor route, frequently referred to as the South Shore Line, runs between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana. Intermediate stops are made in Hammond, Gary, and Michigan City.

The Monon Corridor is an 8-mile southern extension of the South Shore Line’s main Lakeshore Corridor. This new line connects north Hammond to its final stop at the Munster/Dyer Station.
