Effective June 7, 2026 - Temporary service change for the 509 Harbourfront during FIFA World Cup 2026™
The 309 Harbourfront will replace service on the 509 Harbourfront in the early morning period on Sundays and holidays to provide continuous service until the start of subway service.
The 509 Harbourfront streetcar route operates between Union Station on Line 1 Yonge-University and Exhibition Loop, generally in an east-west direction. Union Station is an accessible subway station. Accessible service is provided with low-floor streetcars. Union Station is an accessible subway station. Interior bike racks are available on this route.
One single service is operated: the 509 (Union Station-Exhibition) branch operates at all times, seven days a week.
The route is part of the 10 Minute Network, and operates 10 minutes or better, all day, every day.
Eastbound 509 (streetcar): from Queens Quay Loop via south on Lower Spadina Avenue, east on Queens Quay West, and north on Bay Street to Union Station.
Westbound 509 (streetcar): from Union Station via southbound on Bay Street, westbound on Queens Quay West, and northbound into Queens Quay Loop.
Eastbound 509 (bus): from Exhibition Loop via east in streetcar ROW to Strachan Avenue, east on Fleet Street (in general traffic), north and east on Fort York Blvd, south on Bathurst St, east on Queens Quay West, north on Spadina Avenue, east on Lakeshore Boulevard West, to south on Rees Street.
Westbound 509 (bus): from Rees Street via south on Rees Street, west on Queens Quay West (in general traffic lanes), north on Bathurst St, west and south on Fort York Blvd, west on Lake Shore Boulevard West, north on Strachan Avenue, west on Manitoba Drive, and west on streetcar ROW to Exhibition Loop.
All streetcars on the route serve local stops along the route.
