53 - STEELES EAST
The 53 Steeles East bus route operates between Finch Station on the Line 1 Yonge-University, the area of Steeles Avenue East and Staines Road, generally in an east-west direction. Accessible service is provided on the route. Finch Station is an accessible subway station. Bike racks are available on this route.
Two services are operated. The 53A (Finch Station-Staines) branch operates during the midday and evening from Monday to Friday, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The 53B (Finch Station-Markham Rd) branch operates all day, every day.
Service between Finch Station and Markham Road is part of the 10 Minute Network, and operates 10 minutes or better, all day, every day.
Eastbound 53A to Staines
These buses operate from Finch Station, north on Yonge Street, east on Steeles Avenue East, south and west on Staines Road to Morningside Avenue.
Westbound 53A to Finch Station
These buses operate from Staines Road, north on Morningside Avenue, east on Oasis Boulevard, east on Seasons Drive, north on Staines Road, west on Steeles Avenue East, south on Yonge Street, and east on Bishop Avenue to Finch Station.
Eastbound 53B to Markham Road
These buses operate from Finch Station, north on Yonge Street, east on Steeles Avenue East, south on Tapscott Road, west on Passmore Avenue, and north on Markham Road to Amazon Fulfilment Centre.
Westbound 53B to Finch Station
These buses operate from Markham Road via west on Steeles Avenue East, south on Yonge Street, and east on Bishop Avenue to Finch Station.
All 53A and 53B buses on the route serve local bus stops along the route.
The request stop program is available to all customers travelling along by bus between 9:00 PM and 5:00AM. Request Stop allows any customer who is feeling vulnerable to get off the bus between regular TTC stops.
