Sunday, March 1, 2026, is the last day CharmCard can be used for travel on Local Bus, Light Rail, and Metro Subway. MTA is modernizing its fare collection system, replacing equipment that is more than 20 years old. CharmCards are not accepted on the new system. Single rides, day passes, weekly passes, and monthly passes can also be purchased at Ticket Vending Machines using cash, debit, or credit card. Buy weekly and monthly passes with cash, debit, or credit card at the MTA Transit Store and Walk-in Vendors. For balance transfers to other fare products or for assistance after March 1, please visit the MTA Transit Store in person located at 6 St Paul St, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
