MARC Bowie State University station - repairs to concrete on ramps
🧑🔧 MARC Facilities Maintenance staff are performing repair and upgrade work to the concrete and expansion joints on the ramps at Bowie State University station. Starting on Monday, April 7, the ramp on the southbound platform side will be closed for one week to perform this work. On Monday, April 14, work will shift to the ramp to the northbound platform and it will be closed for two weeks. During this time, Bowie State University station will not be fully ADA accessible. Passengers who require use of the ramps to access the platforms should use Odenton or Seabrook stations. We regret any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as our Facilities Maintenance staff perform this necessary work.
MARC Penn Line - Monday afternoon's service disruption
The Maryland Transit Administration apologizes for the unexpected delays to MARC Train Penn Line service yesterday afternoon because of downed Amtrak catenary wires between Bowie and Odenton. Our team was in continuous contact with Amtrak management and their employees as they worked to repair the catenary lines and restore service. We understand that your time is valuable, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may have caused to your travel plans. If you were unable to complete your trip yesterday, please email us at mtainfo@mdot.maryland.gov by April 8, 2025 and we will issue a replacement ticket. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for riding MARC Train.
MARC Train - Reminder of station and on-board policies
Help make everyone's trip on MARC Train a pleasant one. Please adhere to the following policies when riding: Passengers boarding at Washington Union Station must wait inside the MARC waiting area at Gates B and C or at Gate A inside the station until your train is announced for boarding. Passengers are not permitted to wait outside on the platforms per Amtrak safety and security policies. Each passenger is entitled to one seat. Do not put packages, bags, feet or any other objects on seats or block seats. Conductors will ask passengers blocking seats to move their personal items. Help our Conductors efficiently collect and inspect tickets. Passengers must have paper tickets out or the CharmPass open AND ticket activated prior to conductors entering the car to inspect tickets. If directed by the conductor, CharmPass users must tap the screen on their mobile device to demonstrate the security features of the app. If your device is not working -- including a dead battery -- or you refuse to tap the screen, the ticket is considered invalid and you must purchase a ticket from the conductor. Passengers are not permitted to ride in the vestibule (the area between cars where you enter and exit the train). If seats are not available, all vehicles have designated standing room areas inside the body of the car. Thank you for following these policies and for riding MARC Train.
