Current Service Alerts
On Monday, October 26, a new Fall/Winter schedule will be in effect. Some times have been adjusted for seasonal effects and all train numbers have changed to 4-digits. Visit mbta.com/cr for more information.
Fall/Winter Commuter Rail schedules will take effect on Monday, October 26. Schedules for all lines will be available soon at mbta.com/CR. The Fall/Winter schedule maintains consistent service throughout the day, late at night, and on weekends. Schedules will not change on the Fall River/New Bedford, Framingham/Worcester, Greenbush, and Kingston Lines. On the Fitchburg, Haverhill, Lowell, Needham, Newburyport/Rockport, and Providence/Stoughton Lines, several trains will depart earlier or later than in the current schedule to improve resiliency, better reflect operating conditions, and to align with Amtrak schedules. The Franklin/Foxboro Line will remain on a construction schedule while important track work is completed, and some train departure times have been adjusted. Train numbers on all lines will also change with the implementation of the Fall/Winter schedule. Passengers are encouraged to review the new schedules ahead of October 26 to plan their trips. Select areas of the Anderson/Woburn MBTA Daily Lot and Gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed for major paving and infrastructure improvement work.
Beginning July 13, 2026, the Woburn Anderson Regional Transportation Center will undergo a major paving and infrastructure improvement project, with work expected to be completed by November 16, 2026. To support these critical renovations and enhance the long-term safety and functionality of the facility, select areas of the MBTA Daily Lot and the gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed throughout the construction period. Motorists and facility users are encouraged to plan accordingly and carefully follow all posted signage, traffic control measures, and parking restrictions to ensure a safe and efficient experience during the project.
