🧑🔧 To exit, exit the train at Tufts Medical Center and proceed to the Washington St exit. At street level, cross Washington St, then take a Silver Line SL4 or SL5 bus to Washington St and Essex St (Chinatown Station). Alternatively, if possible, travel 0.2 miles north on Washington St to Chinatown Station. To board, use Chinatown Elevator 922 to access the Forest Hills platform. Take a Forest Hills-bound train to Tufts Medical Center transfer to an Oak Grove-bound train.
The platform at Jackson Square is undergoing renovations to improve safety and accessibility. Sections of the platform are unlevel, which may make it difficult for some riders to board and exit trains.

The stairway connecting the Jackson Square lobby and the south end of the platform is closed until winter 2026. Use the stairway at the north end of the platform. This closure is for the construction of a new stairway and a second elevator.

Upcoming Service Alerts
Orange Line: Service will be suspended between Oak Grove and Back Bay from August 20 - 30. Riders can use shuttles between Oak Grove and North Station, and the Green Line between North Station and Copley/Back Bay.
Scope of Work: Crews will replace and upgrade the track area at Chinatown while also upgrading signals at Wellington and North Station which will strengthen service reliability. Local Shuttle Service: Free and accessible shuttle buses will service all stations between Oak Grove and North Station. Express Shuttle Service: Free and accessible shuttles will service Oak Grove, Malden Center, Wellington, and North Station. Accessible Vans: Accessible vans will be available at downtown Orange Line stations between Back Bay and North Station, as well as Copley on the Green Line. See station personnel for assistance. Travel Times: Riders using the shuttles should budget extra travel time. For example, a rider traveling to Downtown Crossing from Oak Grove should budget at least an additional 70 minutes of travel time in addition to their regular commute. Commuter Rail Alternates: Riders are encouraged to consider the Haverhill Commuter Rail Line for fare-free service to and from Oak Grove, Malden Center, and North Station. Regular fares should be purchased beyond Oak Grove.
