Orange Line: Shuttle buses are replacing service between Back Bay and Forest Hills through the end of service on Sunday, November 16, for signal upgrades.

Accessibility: All shuttle buses will be accessible. Fare-Free Commuter Rail Alternative: Riders can use the Franklin/Foxboro, Needham, or Providence/Stoughton Lines fare-free for service between Forest Hills, Ruggles, Back Bay and South Station. Regular fares will apply to travel beyond Forest Hills. Travel Time: Riders using shuttle bus service should budget extra travel time. For example, a rider traveling to Downtown Crossing from Forest Hills should allow for at least 30 minutes of travel in addition to their regular commute. Chinatown Elevator 876 (Oak Grove platform to Washington St, Essex St) is unavailable until further notice while it undergoes major equipment upgrades.

🧑‍🔧 The elevator will be closed for work that will significantly improve its long-term reliability. To Exit: Take an Oak Grove Train to Downtown Crossing; then take Downtown Crossing elevator 891 to Franklin Street. At Franklin Street customers should turn left and travel 450 feet south on Washington Street then take Downtown Crossing elevator 892 to the Forest Hills platform. Then take a Forest Hills Train to Chinatown and use elevator 922 to exit the station. To Board: Go to Chinatown Elevator 922 on Essex St. Take Elevator 922 to the Forest Hills platform. Take a Forest Hills train to Tufts Medical Center. Transfer to an Oak Grove train.

Jackson Square: The platform is undergoing renovations to improve safety and accessibility. Sections of the platform are unlevel, which may make it difficult for some riders to board and exit trains. This work will take place through fall 2025.
