Downtown Crossing Escalator 364 (Oak Grove platform to Franklin Street) unavailable due to maintenance
🧑🔧 If exiting, travel down the concourse and use the elevator located through the glass doors and to the left of the MBTA's CharlieCard store. This elevator will take you to the lobby of 101 Arch Street, located on Summer Street. If boarding, travel to 101 Arch Street (across from Macy�??s on Summer Street). Take the elevator in the back left corner of the lobby to the concourse. Take a right and find the Oak Grove-bound platform ahead.
Orange Line: Service will be suspended between Wellington and Back Bay the weekend of January 10 - 11 for tunnel inspections. Use shuttles between Wellington & North Station. Use the Green Line between North Station & Copley/Back Bay.
🧑🔧 Additional Travel Time: Riders using the shuttles buses should allow extra time. For example, a rider traveling to Downtown Crossing from Wellington should budget at least an additional 45 minutes of travel in additional to their regular commute. Commuter Rail Alternatives from the South: Riders can use the Franklin/Foxboro, Needham, or Providence/Stoughton Lines for fare-free travel between Forest Hills, Ruggles, Back Bay and South Station. Regular fares will apply to travel beyond Forest Hills. Commuter Rail Alternatives From the North: Riders can use the Haverhill Line for fare-free travel between Oak Grove, Malden Center, and North Station. Regular fares will apply to travel beyond Oak Grove. Accessible Vans: Accessible vans will be available at downtown Orange Line stations between Back Bay and North Station, as well as Copley on the Green Line. Shuttle Routes: Accessible shuttles will run two routes, one local servicing all stations between Wellington and North

At street level, cross Washington St. Take a Silver Line SL4 (South Station) or SL5 (Downtown) bus to Washington St and Essex St (Chinatown Station). Alternatively, if possible, travel 0.2 miles north on Washington St to Chinatown Station. To board: go to the Silver Line SL5 bus stop at Washington St and Essex St. Take an SL5 (Downtown) bus to Tufts Medical Center (stay on bus past the Temple Pl stop). Alternate route: travel 0.2 miles south on Washington St to Tufts Medical Center.
Chinatown Elevator 922 (Forest Hills Platform to Boylston St, Washington St) is unavailable through Sun, Jan 11, 2026, while it undergoes major equipment upgrades. There is no elevator access to the Forest Hills platform.

Jackson Square: The stairway connecting the Jackson Sq lobby and the south end of the platform is closed until winter 2026. Use the stairway at the north end of the platform. This closure is for the construction of a new stairway and a second elevator.
