WEEKDAY SERVICE HAS RESUMED AS OF 7/17/26: Regular Monday-Friday weekday South Shore Line train service has resumed following the successful completion of recovery efforts related to a June 24 freight train derailment near East Chicago. Busing substitution has concluded as of 7/16/26.
General Message
7/18/26 MILLENNIUM STATION: Millennium Station depot switch effective Saturday, July 18, 2026: Between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, 7/18/26, all SSL passengers utilizing Millennium Station will temporarily board/detrain from the Metra Depot at Millennium, located northwest of the SSL platform. During this time, Metra will be performing work in the SSL depot. After 5 p.m. Saturday, passengers will return to utilizing the SSL platform.

The Metra Millennium Station elevator is out of service until further notice. Recommended alternative accessible locations are Van Buren or Museum Campus/11th St. Please visit https://www.mysouthshoreline.com/riders/ada for more information on alternative elevator locations.

The Lakeshore Corridor route, frequently referred to as the South Shore Line, runs between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana. Intermediate stops are made in Hammond, Gary, and Michigan City.
