The Lakeshore Corridor route, frequently referred to as the South Shore Line, runs between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana. Intermediate stops are made in Hammond, Gary, and Michigan City.

9/13/26 MILLENNIUM STATION: Between 4 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, and 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, all South Shore Line passengers utilizing Millennium Station on Sunday will temporarily board/detrain from the Metra Depot, located northwest of the SSL platform. During this time, Metra will be performing work in the SSL depot. After 4 a.m. Monday, all weekday passengers will return to utilizing the SSL platform.

CHICAGO CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS: SSL passengers are advised that ongoing construction in downtown Chicago will begin a new phase that will affect weekday train operations beginning Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, in the area of Millennium and Van Buren Street stations. The construction will result in limited train capacity, with reduced seating on select trains; as well as potential train delays due to Metra substation work.

9/20/26 BEARS 18TH ST SERVICE: In order to accommodate passengers attending the Chicago Bears vs. Vikings home game at noon on Sunday, Sept. 20, the South Shore Line plans to stop the following trains at Metra’s 18th Street Station: Westbound: Tr 504, 18th St. arrival at 9:56a; Tr 506, 18th St. arrival at 10:58a; Tr 608, 18th St. arrival at 11:47a. And Eastbound: Tr 609* departs 18th St. at 3:35p; Tr 509 departs 18th St. at 5:12p. * Tr 609 terminates in Michigan City, and does not serve Hudson Lake/South Bend.
