4/12 EXTRA TRAIN SERVICE: SSL will be offering extra service on Saturday, 4/12, for passengers attending C2E2. A WB Extra will depart Carroll Ave. at 8:27 a.m. and make all local stops (arriving at McCormick Place at 9:45 a.m.). An EB Extra will depart Millennium Station ahead of Train 509 at 4:57 p.m. (McCormick Place at 5:04 p.m.), run non-stop to Hegewisch and make all local stops terminating at Carroll Ave. Please see mysouthshoreline.com "News" section for additional details.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Northern Indiana through the early overnight hours of April 2. The severe weather risk includes heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. SSL is closely monitoring conditions, and crews are prepared to conduct patrols to locate any damage incurred as a result of the severe weather, and make train service adjustments as necessary. Any changes in service will be promptly posted to our website Service Updates, the South Shore mobile app, and via email/text notifications.

KIDS RIDE FREE 3/22-4/12: To accommodate local school district Spring Breaks, SSL has expanded its Kids Ride Free program to include ALL trains 3/22 through 4/12/25. Up to three kids 13 years of age and younger ride free with a paying adult on all trains during the promotion.

SOUTH BEND AIRPORT: The South Bend Airport train station lobby will be temporarily closed due to flooring work beginning Monday, March 10, 2025, and lasting approximately one month. A temporary waiting area/lobby for train passengers will be available at Airport Door G in the area just west of the South Shore Line doors. Additional restrooms are also located throughout the Airport.
